In the early stage after pterygium surgery, patients may experience dry eyes, astringent eyes and other discomfort symptoms, patients can follow the doctor’s instructions to use artificial tears and other medication to relieve eye discomfort. After the recovery of the eyes after surgery, patients can also use hot compresses on the eyes and blepharoplasty massage to relieve eye discomfort.
1. Hot compresses: Patients can use hot towels to apply hot compresses to the eyelids to promote the discharge of oil from the glands, lubricate the eyeballs and relieve eye discomfort. However, the towel should not be too hot to prevent burns to the skin.
2. Blepharoplasty massage: Patients with dry eyes can also have a blepharoplasty massage to unblock the blepharoplasty glands, expel the oil from the glands, and relieve eye discomfort.
3. Artificial tears: In the early post-surgery period, patients can follow the doctor’s instructions to use artificial tear drops, such as sodium vitrate drops, to lubricate the eye surface, thus relieving eye discomfort.
It is recommended that postoperative pterygium patients follow the doctor’s instructions for care, regular checkups, and timely consultation when discomfort occurs.
