What to do if your bowel movements are watery

The loose watery stool may be caused by indigestion, intestinal flora imbalance as well as viral and bacterial infections. The treatment needs to be based on the cause of the disease and take medication such as montelukast, norfloxacin and other medications, replenishment of fluids and electrolytes, as well as dietary adjustments.
1. Treatment of the cause: indigestion, will lead to gastrointestinal food is difficult to be digested, easy to cause diarrhea, can take pancreatic enzymes and pepsin to promote digestion;
Imbalance of intestinal flora will lead to the decrease of intestinal digestive ability, causing dilute watery stools, need to take bifidobacteria and lactobacillus, and so on;
Infectious factors, such as viral infection will lead to excessive secretion of water and electrolytes by the intestinal mucosa, causing diarrhea; bacterial infection will directly invade the small intestine or intestinal wall of the colon, inducing congestion and edema of the mucosa, causing infiltration of inflammatory cells resulting in exudation and ulceration, and requiring the administration of antibiotics or antiviral medications such as norfloxacin, ribavirin, and so on.
2. Rehydration and electrolytes: to avoid dehydration, malnutrition and electrolyte disorders induced by diarrhea that causes large amounts of water and electrolyte loss, appropriate rehydration is needed, drink plenty of warm water, and take compound electrolyte solution orally. Severe vomiting requires intravenous rehydration.
3. Adjust the diet: need to actively supplement easily digestible and nutritious food to replenish diarrhea caused by intestinal loss of nutrients, such as more protein and vitamin-rich nutritious food milk, green vegetables and eggs and so on.
The use of the above medications carries certain risks and requires the guidance of a specialist.
