Chinese type Gγ+(Aγδβ)0 deletion heterozygous means a type of β-deficiency thalassemia. The Chinese type Gγ+(Aγδβ)0 deletion heterozygote has a deletion range of about 100 kb, including part of the Aγ bead protein gene, all of the δ and β bead protein genes, and DNA sequences with regulatory functions far downstream of the β bead protein gene. The Chinese Gγ+(Aγδβ)0 deletion heterozygote is a relatively common type in the southern population of China, so the possibility of the existence of deletion type β-anemia, including the Chinese Gγ+(Aγδβ)0 deletion heterozygote, should not be ignored in the routine screening of anemia through routine blood and hemoglobin electrophoresis, and in the routine genetic testing of the suspected cases. It should be noted that the combination of Chinese Gγ+(Aγδβ)0 deletion heterozygote β-thalassemia and common β-thalassemia carriers may result in the birth of a child with moderately severe β-thalassemia, so accurate preconception genetic testing and prenatal diagnosis is very necessary.
