Difference in stool color of infants and toddlers

Stools of infants and young children can be generally categorized as yellow, yellow-green, green, brown or white. 1. Golden yellow stools: infants and young children in normal breastfeeding, and gastrointestinal function under the conditions of good, golden yellow stools can be excreted, stool formation. 2. Yellow-green or green stools: when children eat vegetables containing green coloring or the iron in milk powder cannot be absorbed by infants, they may pass green stools; when rotavirus enteritis occurs, they may pass yellow watery, egg-shaped stools or yellow-green stools. 3. Brown color: With the growth of infants and young children, after 6 months, they can gradually add complementary foods, from thin to thick, from less to more, and their feces are gradually close to adults, which can be brown. 4. White stools: If the child suffers from infantile cholestasis, due to the decrease or lack of bile excretion, the color of stools becomes lighter, and may be white clay color or even grayish white stools.
