How long does it take to get better from eye injuries that flash white light

There is no definite time frame for how long it takes to recover from flashing white light after an eye injury; some patients are able to recover in about 3 to 5 days, while others may continue for up to several months or years. White light flashes after an eye injury are usually caused by a posterior vitreous detachment, retinal contusion or retinal detachment. These conditions cause abnormal irritation of the retina, which results in the formation of flashes of white light. White light flashes caused by posterior vitreous detachment are mainly due to incomplete detachment of the posterior vitreous, which locally pulls on the retina. When the posterior vitreous detachment is completely detached, the white light disappears, while white light flashes caused by retinal contusion can generally subside on their own when the contusion recovers, and most of the recovery from these two conditions can be from a few days to a few months, and in some cases, it can be up to a few years. Retinal detachment needs to be treated as soon as possible. Surgery is usually needed to reset the retina, otherwise it will cause severe vision loss, and the white light will disappear when the retinal detachment is completely reset.
