How epinephrine is administered

Epinephrine is not usually recommended for intravenous administration, but is indicated for resuscitation of all types of shock or as first-line cardiopulmonary resuscitation for simultaneous agonism of adrenal alpha and beta receptors. Epinephrine is best administered by intramuscular injection, which is preferred and can be repeated 5 minutes later. In addition, epinephrine can also be injected subcutaneously, and the patient must be monitored for heart rate, blood pressure, pulse, oxygen saturation and other indicators under subcutaneous injection to observe the situation. In general epinephrine is not recommended to be given intravenously because it is not easy to control the dosage when given intravenously and because of the relatively high risks and side effects.
