Gum ulcers don’t hurt but don’t heal for a long time.

Gum ulcers that are painless and do not heal for a long time may be cancerous ulcers and periungual aphthous ulcers, surgical treatment and observation are recommended.
1. Cancer ulcers: usually painless, with cauliflower-like or rat-shaped surface, may be accompanied by odor, and will not heal on their own. For patients who do not heal for a long time, local biopsy can be considered to clarify the diagnosis, and surgical treatment is required if the diagnosis is confirmed.
2. Perioral glandular aphthous ulcers: often occurring in the corner of the mouth area, the ulcers are large in shape, similar to general ulcers, but with a certain degree of hardness at the base, and usually take 1 to 3 months to heal on their own, and scars can be left behind after the healing process.
It is recommended that patients with ulcers in the mouth that do not heal for more than 2 weeks should seek medical attention as soon as possible to avoid delays.
