Celecoxib, scientifically known as celecoxib capsules, is a selective COX2 inhibitor and a non-steroidal antipyretic and anti-inflammatory drug. Compared with traditional NSAIDs, Celecoxib has lower GI adverse effects and definite analgesic and anti-inflammatory efficacy. Cilazapro is currently approved for the treatment of: i. for the relief of signs and symptoms of osteoarthritis; ii. for the relief of signs and symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis in adults; iii. for the treatment of acute pain in adults; and iv. for the relief of signs and symptoms of ankylosing spondylitis. Contraindications to this drug include: contraindication to celecoxib and sulfa drugs; also contraindicated in the perioperative pain management of coronary artery bypass surgery; contraindicated in patients with active peptic ulcers or bleeding, and in patients with severe heart failure.
