Does Saphris work for cataracts?

Saphris does not have any therapeutic effect on cataracts and is not recommended. The active ingredient in Saphris eye drops is mainly benzyl lysine, which is an amino acid. The substance is difficult to enter the eye by means of eye drops and has no therapeutic effect on the treatment of cataracts. Cataracts occur mainly due to the aging of the lens inside the eye. Drugs such as Saphris may have some effect on preventing early cataracts, with unknown efficacy, but they have no therapeutic effect on mid- to late-stage cataracts that have already occurred. Currently, cataracts can only be treated by replacing the IOL, and no medication can cure cataracts.
