Bone cement is a common filling material in orthopedics. Thoracolumbar vertebral compression fracture: it is mostly seen in patients with thoracolumbar vertebral compression fracture caused by senile osteoporosis. After compression fracture, if there is no nerve compression, only pain in the lower back, the stability of the vertebral body is affected and the bending activity is affected, the minimally invasive surgery can be performed by using bone cement, which is filled in the vertebral body to restore the height of the vertebral body, and at the same time, it can also restore the normal vertebral space. 2. Repair of vertebral cavity after destruction of vertebral body: It is most commonly used in patients with partial bone loss due to destruction of vertebral body caused by tumors, hemangiomas and other space-occupying diseases, and minimally invasive surgery with bone cement can be used to fill up the patient’s bone defects. 3. Fixation of joint replacement prosthesis: Bone cement can also be used for fixation of joint prosthesis, in joint replacement surgery, if the patient’s own bone strength is not strong enough to bear the joint prosthesis, bone cement can be used as an adhesive to bond the prosthesis with normal bone to stabilize the prosthesis.
