The surgical results of aortic narrowing are good, and the treatment does not affect the patient’s life expectancy, which is usually not significantly different from that of a normal person. The surgery is relatively safe and mature. There is a certain chance of restenosis after surgery, which is related to the chosen surgical method. Even if the stenosis can still be treated with secondary surgery, such as in pediatric patients, who mostly open the vessel by patch enlargement and can be re-patched or replaced with artificial vessels in case of restenosis, and in newer surgeries, who open the vessel by placing stents and can be treated with balloon dilation method in case of restenosis.
