There’s a hard strip down the right side of my abdomen. What’s the pain when I press on it?

There is a hard strip in the right side of the abdomen downward, and it is painful when pressed, which may be caused by physiological reasons such as obstruction of intestinal contents, and may also be caused by pathological reasons such as intestinal obstruction and right side colon cancer.
1. Physiological reasons: such as sedentary, standing for a long time, lying in bed for a long time, which can cause slowing down of gastrointestinal peristalsis; eating a lot of peppers, spicy hot pot, fried chicken, ice cream, beer and other stimulating foods, which can stimulate gastrointestinal mucosa and increase the burden of gastrointestinal, can cause slowing down of gastrointestinal movement and retention of intestinal contents, which can produce a hard and painful bulge on the right side of the abdomen.
2. Pathologic causes:
(1) Intestinal obstruction: surgery, trauma, bacterial infection, parasitic infection and other reasons can cause intestinal contents can not pass through the intestinal lumen normally, when the obstruction site occurs in the right intestinal lumen, can appear in the abdominal wall of a hard strip of lump, painful on pressure. Symptoms such as anus stopping defecation and exhaustion may also appear.
(2) Left colon cancer: Heredity, diet, viral infection, environment, immunity and other factors can cause atypical hyperplasia of intestinal mucosa, which occurs in the left colon, and the cancerous tissues can partially or completely obstruct the intestinal lumen, resulting in a hard, striated and painful lump on the right side of the abdomen.
If there is a hard and painful lump on the right side of the abdomen, it is recommended to consult a doctor for diagnosis and treatment under the doctor’s guidance.
