If urethral cancer is detected late, radical total cystourethral resection with urinary diversion should be performed, along with removal of surrounding lymph node tissue. Chemotherapy is mostly used for palliative treatment with uncertain results. Radiotherapy has external radiation and intra-tissue radiation. Radiation for small tumors with low stage is more satisfactory, and radiotherapy for larger and highly staged posterior urethral cancer is not effective, and urethral stenosis, local necrosis, vulvar abscess and radiation pelvic inflammation may occur after radiotherapy. Dietary attention should be paid to avoiding spicy stimulating food, drinking more warm boiled water, avoiding strong tea, caffeine and other sugary drinks. Adopt good hygiene habits.
