Interstitial pneumonia is divided into acute interstitial pneumonia and chronic interstitial lung disease. Once acute interstitial pneumonia is diagnosed, immediate hospitalization is required. Hospitalization is mainly given with effective antibiotics, hormones, and oxygen therapy, and the cost per day varies depending on the patient’s age, specific etiology, and length of illness. If the patient has purely acute interstitial pneumonia, the daily cost is about$500 for a two-week to one-month course of treatment with high-resolution CT of the chest and biochemical blood tests to rule out other diseases. The earlier and more thoroughly the disease is controlled, the more effective the treatment of its transformation into chronic interstitial pneumonia, and therefore the treatment of interstitial pneumonia in the acute phase is particularly important.
