Strabismus surgery lasts for several years

Strabismus surgery is currently the most effective and common means of correcting strabismus, which can be completely corrected after a single surgery and rarely recurs. Strabismus refers to the inability of both eyes to look at the target at the same time. It is a disease of the extraocular muscles and can be divided into common and paralytic strabismus. In addition to correcting the eye position and improving the appearance, strabismus surgery can also establish binocular vision and restore normal vision to the patient. Usually, complete correction is possible after surgery, and recurrence is rare. However, if a patient has poor vision in one eye before surgery, he or she may be prone to recurrence after surgery, and the younger the patient is, the higher the chance of recurrence. Patients with strabismus should pay attention to the timing and indications for surgery. It is recommended that patients with strabismus should go to the ophthalmology department of the hospital for strabismus-related examination as early as possible, and if they have indications for surgery, they should undergo surgery in time for correction.
