Generally speaking, there is no such thing as doing any fixed action to treat high blood pressure. The treatment of high blood pressure usually includes lifestyle modification and medication.
1. Lifestyle adjustment: Diet of hypertensive patients need to reduce the intake of foods high in sodium such as salted vegetables and bacon, increase the intake of foods high in potassium such as vegetables and fruits, control body weight, quit smoking, limit alcohol, jogging, bicycling and other appropriate sports and exercise, and reduce mental stress.
2. Medication: If the patient’s blood pressure is high and belongs to grade 2 or 3 hypertension, ≥160/100mmHg, he/she usually needs medication, and there are five main types of medication, which are diuretics such as hydrochlorothiazide, β-blockers such as bisoprolol, calcium channel blockers such as nifedipine, angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors such as captopril, and angiotensin II receptor antagonists such as valsartan.
If the patient is diagnosed with hypertension, it is recommended to go to the hospital for consultation and active treatment under the guidance of the doctor.
