Baby prickly heat on the head is mostly caused by the blockage of small sweat gland ducts, which can be treated by general treatment and medication.
1. General treatment: Try to move the patient to a cooler environment and wear more breathable clothing. The skin can be gently wiped with a soft washcloth daily during a bath or shower, which helps to remove sweat and dirt from the skin.
2. Medication: If the itching is obvious, topical glycerin lotion can be used. If combined with local inflammation, low to medium potency corticosteroids, such as hydrocortisone cream, can be used topically. If the combination of local bacterial infection, can be used topical antibiotic treatment, such as clindamycin or erythromycin.
