Are 95% of pure ground-glass nodules lung cancer?

The conclusion that 95% of pure ground glass nodules are not always lung cancer has no basis in clinical practice.
Milled glass nodules need to be judged according to its morphology, size and growth tendency. Most of the milled glass nodules may be old inflammatory lesions, tuberculous lesions, benign tumors, which are all benign lesions.
However, if there is a tendency for the ground-glass nodule to grow bigger, or the edge is not clear, or it is adherent to the surrounding tissues, or there is a burr or pleural depression, then it is considered that there is a possibility of carcinoma, and if malignant lesions are found, it is necessary to carry out treatment in time. Therefore, only based on the presence of ground-glass nodules on the lungs, it cannot be directly diagnosed as lung cancer, but needs to be combined with relevant pathology to confirm the diagnosis.
It is suggested that when there are ground-glass nodules, don’t have too much psychological pressure, and have regular follow-up in 3-6 months, and generally the possibility of cancer is small. However, people with family history of lung cancer and long-term smokers should pay extra attention, and may shorten the review interval and increase the frequency of review according to their own conditions.
