2. Topical medication: For acne that is not associated with inflammation or infection, it can be treated with topical retinoic acid, such as retinoic acid cream, adapalene gel, etc. However, retinoic acid has the side effect of teratogenicity, and should not be used for pregnant women and breastfeeding patients; it can also be used externally with benzoyl peroxide to dissolve the acne; for those who are infected with Propionibacterium acnes, topical anti-bacterial medication can be used to treat the acne, such as fusidic acid, mupirocin and so on.

3. Oral drug treatment: for moderate to severe acne, oral antibacterial drug treatment, such as minocycline, doxycycline, etc.; for severe acne, oral isotretinoin treatment, which has obvious teratogenic effect and is not suitable for pregnant women and women of childbearing age; for eruptive acne, oral glucocorticosteroid treatment, such as prednisone, etc., which can improve the symptoms of the acute phase.

4. Physical therapy: For those who can’t tolerate the medication, physical therapy such as photodynamic therapy, chemical exfoliation therapy and laser therapy can be chosen to eliminate acne.

It is recommended that patients use medication in strict compliance with the doctor’s instructions, not blindly self-medication, to avoid adverse reactions and delay the condition.
