Vision of 1.0 and above is generally referred to as normal vision, but vision is related to age, and children generally develop to adult vision when they are 8-9 years old, which is 1.0 or above. Under the age of 8-9 years old, the vision may not reach the normal level, and it is not necessarily myopia, but only a problem of delayed development, so you cannot judge whether it is myopia based on how much the vision is. The most accurate way to know if a child is nearsighted is to go through a dilated eye exam, which is generally considered normal for myopia of less than 50 degrees after the pupil is dilated. Only myopia of ≥50 degrees is called true myopia, generally 50-300 degrees is low myopia, 325-575 degrees is moderate myopia, 600 degrees or more including 600 degrees is high myopia.
