What’s wrong with a yellow nose?

The appearance of yellow nasal discharge is clinically more common with chronic sinusitis, acute attacks of rhinitis, and acute sinusitis and rhinitis. It is mainly caused by purulent bacterial infections, such as Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus pneumoniae. If these bacteria invade the mucous membrane of the nasal cavity, causing congestion and edema, as well as the constant exudation of inflammatory secretions with yellow pus. Clinically, a combination of treatment options is available, such as repeated rinsing of the nasal cavity and even the sinuses with saline as well as anti-inflammatory drugs. Antibiotic therapy, such as penicillin, clindamycin, and roxithromycin, is administered orally or by intravenous drip.
