If the patient’s hand is swollen by a fishbone, the majority of cases are considered to be localized infections. First, it is recommended to go to the outpatient clinic or emergency department of a regular medical institution for debridement treatment. If there are fishbone residues and foreign objects, it is necessary to use hemostatic forceps or cut open and then remove the foreign objects. Secondly, the local area should be rinsed with saline or distilled water repeatedly, and after rinsing, the local area should be sterilized by applying povidone-iodine, and then covered with sterile auxiliary material or band-aid after drying. Again, if the patient draws blood, the routine blood test suggests that the white blood cells are high, and the combination of fever, we should consider active intravenous infusion of antibiotics to anti-inflammatory treatment. Finally, within one week after debridement and closure, the patient should open the wound every day for iodine povidone coating and disinfection and change the gauze or band-aid, and pay attention to the local area as far as possible not to get wet within 10 days.
