When a one-year-old baby falls out of bed and lands on his head, he needs to be observed immediately for bleeding and hematoma on the landing site, and for bleeding from the head or from local trauma wounds. If there is a traumatic wound, you need to go to the hospital for emergency disinfection or suturing of the wound, or tetanus toxoid injection and other treatment measures. If there is no traumatic wound but only a localized hematoma, clinical observation is needed to see if there is further expansion of the hematoma. More importantly, the child should be observed for a series of changes of intracranial hemorrhage such as drowsiness, poor mental response, jet vomiting and blurred vision during this period. Once similar clinical symptoms are detected, an urgent cranial CT examination needs to be performed at the hospital to determine the extent and location of the intracranial hemorrhage and further resuscitative treatment.
