There are no special contraindications for rhinitis surgery other than allergic foods and medications.
Rhinitis surgery is mainly performed for the clinical symptoms of various types of rhinitis to control the disease and improve the symptoms. For example, inferior turbinate partial resection is applied to remove the diseased turbinate tissue to correct the bad structure of nasal cavity and restore the normal ventilation function; pre-sial nerve block, pterygoid neurectomy, etc. are applied to treat allergic rhinitis, vasomotor rhinitis, and so on.
Generally, rhinitis surgery is a minimally invasive surgery performed under nasal endoscopy, which is relatively less traumatic and faster recovery after surgery. For a short period of time after surgery, spicy and stimulating foods and hard, difficult to chew foods are prohibited to reduce nasal mucosal irritation, mechanical extrusion and vibration to avoid postoperative hypersecretion and to reduce the chance of postoperative bleeding.
When there are clear allergic foods and medications, intake should be strictly avoided to prevent allergic reactions, which may affect the recovery of the condition and cause damage to the health. Specific postoperative dietary norms can be sought from the surgeon’s opinion to guide life health management.
