With an incision pregnancy, the baby is not wanted and the pregnancy needs to be terminated. Incisional pregnancy is clinically known as cesarean scar site pregnancy (CSP). It is an ectopic pregnancy in which the fertilized egg is deposited in the uterine incision scar of a previous cesarean section. There may be different clinical regressions. If the embryonic sac grows toward the uterine cavity in the endogenous type, it may develop into an intrauterine live birth or even a full-term delivery, but there is a risk of placenta praevia and implantation of the placenta; if the embryonic sac grows toward the bladder in the ectopic type, it may develop into an aggressive placenta praevia or even uterine rupture. Because of the aggressive prognosis of most CSP, once diagnosed, termination of pregnancy is mostly recommended. Treatment includes medications and/or surgery. If you have CSP, you need to seek medical advice from your doctor.
