Sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) are a group of diseases that can be transmitted through a variety of sexual contacts and sexual behaviors, which we collectively refer to as sexually transmitted diseases (STDs). The ways in which STDs are transmitted include: 1) Sexual transmission: AIDS, syphilis, Chlamydia trachomatis, genital herpes, and gonorrhea are mainly transmitted sexually; 2) Bloodborne transmission: AIDS and syphilis can be transmitted in the early stages of the disease through the bloodstream; 3) Mother-to-infant transmission: AIDS and syphilis can be transmitted from mother to child; and 4) If mothers have gonorrhea or Chlamydia trachomatis infections, then newborn babies are at risk of being infected.
