The lower abdomen generally refers to the abdominal organs below the level of the navel. The common organs include the ureter, bladder, rectum, sigmoid colon and part of the small intestine, as well as the uterus and both adnexa in women. If a patient has painful symptoms in the lower abdomen, it is likely that there is inflammation or tumor lesions in the above organs. If the patient has abnormal bowel movements, abdominal CT and colonoscopy should be performed to determine whether there are ulcers, polyps, or tumor lesions in the intestine. If the abdominal pain is caused by intestinal obstruction, active enema and fluid treatment can improve the obstruction symptoms, but if the patient has lower abdominal pain due to intestinal tumor lesions, surgery is required.
