Efficacy and effects of Allium sativum

Allium cepa has the effect of dispersing Yang, moving Qi and directing stagnation, and can be used to treat chest paralysis (stuffy pain in the chest), heart pain, and plumpness (stomach distension and discomfort).
Allium cepa is a traditional Chinese medicine derived from the lily plant, Rootlets of garlic and rakkyo, and is used in medicine as a dried bulb. This product has the effects of dispersing Yang and dispersing knots, moving Qi and directing stagnation. It is used to promote Yang dispersal, move Qi and direct stagnation. It is used for chest paralysis and heart pain, epigastric (abdominal) plumpness and distension, diarrhea and dysentery.
Clinically, it is usually used in combination with other medicines, with Psidium guajava, Citrus aurantium, for chest paralysis caused by cold and phlegm stagnation; with Salviae Miltiorrhizae and Psidium guajava for chest paralysis with phlegm and stasis; and with Gaultheriae aristataeum and Mucuna pruriens for gastric cold and stagnation of qi, resulting in distension of the epigastric region and plumping of the epigastric region.
The adverse reactions, contraindications and precautions for the use of the above drugs are not clear at present.
