Is genital herpes carried for life?

Genital herpes is a common sexually transmitted disease caused by infection with the herpes simplex virus. Genital herpes is chronic and prone to recurrence. Clinically, it is believed that genital herpes patients are generally difficult to cure completely and prone to recurrence, while patients carry the herpes simplex virus for life. It is due to the fact that the herpes simplex virus, when infecting the human body, causes clusters of small blisters to appear in the genital area, and a portion of the herpes simplex virus is latent deep inside the patient’s body for a long time, usually only under special circumstances, resulting in the re-emergence of genital herpes. So, clinically, for patients with genital herpes, there are often recurring episodes and the patient is often under great psychological stress.
