Currently chronic kidney disease is staged based on glomerular filtration rate (GFR).
Current international guidelines stage chronic kidney disease according to GFR, GFR greater than 90 ml/min is stage 1, 60-89 ml/min is stage 2, 30-59 ml/min is stage 3, 15-29 ml/min is stage 4, and less than 15 ml/min is stage 5.
The accurate determination of glomerular filtration rate is relatively troublesome, need to apply inulin or carry out renal ECT, the method is cumbersome or have certain damage to the body, clinical more often apply various formulas according to the patient’s age, gender, race, etc., combined with creatinine, urea, cystatin C and other experimental examination data for estimation.
Patients with chronic kidney disease should consult a regular hospital in time and follow the doctor’s instructions for standardized treatment.
