There is no strict time limit for walking after appendicitis surgery to prevent adhesions, but the individual needs to decide according to his/her recovery and ability. Usually, after appendicitis surgery, if the recovery condition is good, you can walk until your body sweats slightly according to your physical strength, if the recovery condition is not good, you can reduce the time of walking after surgery accordingly. Depending on the type of appendicitis surgery, the amount of time that the patient can be out of bed varies. For traditional open appendectomy, the patient should wait for the anesthesia to wear off and get out of bed after about 6 hours; for laparoscopic appendectomy, the patient can get out of bed when he/she is awake. The patient can get out of bed and walk around to help the bowel function recover and reduce abdominal adhesions. When walking out of bed after appendectomy, it is necessary to pay attention to the amount of strength, not excessive force, in order to prevent wound dehiscence.
