Vocal nodules in children are mainly caused by improper use of voice, loud shouting, drinking little water, and liking spicy and greasy food. They can be treated by conservative treatment or surgery. 1. Conservative treatment (1) Vocal abstinence: Early vocal nodules can disappear on their own by abstaining from speaking and letting the vocal cords have enough rest. Children’s vocal fold nodules mostly disappear on their own during puberty. (2) Drugs: Chinese patent medicines, such as Golden Voice Pills. 2. Surgery: If the conservative treatment is not effective, laryngeal microsurgery can be performed under general anesthesia with laryngoscope to remove the nodules. After the operation, the voice should be prohibited for 2 weeks, and use budesonide suspension nebulized inhalation treatment. Children with vocal cord nodules should seek medical attention in a timely manner, according to the doctor’s instructions to use drugs or surgical treatment, do not self-medication.
