Acupuncture points are special parts of the body where the qi of the internal organs and meridians is infused, and they are both reaction points to diseases and stimulation points for acupuncture to treat them. There are many acupoints in the human body, and according to the traditional classification method, there are acupoints located in the twelve meridians, as well as those on the Ren and the Du veins, referred to as the fourteen meridians, such as Hegu, Taichong, Baihui, etc. Acupoints that are not within the scope of the fourteen meridians but have fixed names, locations, and main effects are called extra-meridian odd points, such as Sun, Eight Evil, Eight Wind, and Pinnacle. The painful points or corresponding pressure and sensitivity points are used as acupoints called A-Ye points, also known as Tian-Ying points.
