Poria cocos is a drug that removes dampness and detoxifies the joints, and Poria is a drug that strengthens the spleen, dispels dampness, and calms the heart and tranquilizes the mind, and the two drugs can be decocted together. Poria can be used clinically for the treatment of contractural pain of the limbs, syphilis, eczema itching, scrofula (mainly refers to the neck lymph nodes tuberculosis) carbuncle, gonorrhea (increased frequency of urination, gonorrhea astringent pain), abnormalities under the belt. Use with caution if there is deficiency of Yin in the liver and kidney, and the adverse effects are not exact. Poria can be used to treat edema due to spleen deficiency, dizziness due to phlegm (pathological product formed by impaired metabolism of water and fluid), poor appetite, scanty stools, and restlessness of the mind. Adverse reactions and contraindications are imprecise. There are no contraindications for Tu Fu Ling and Poria, they can be decocted together to help clear heat and relieve dampness and detoxification, and decocting them together requires a doctor’s supervision.
