There is no scientific evidence seen to show that betel nut can prevent or treat neocoronavirus infection. In addition, betel nut is classified as a Group 1 carcinogen in the WHO list of carcinogens. Clinical trials have proven that betel nut extracts have some antiviral effects. However, prescriptions containing betel nut are targeted applications by experts based on two syndromic subtypes of the current novel pneumonia, each of which is a whole and does not mean that betel nut is effective alone. And the drug betel nut and food betel nut itself is two concepts, can not be equivalent.
