Care of the nasogastric tube

In clinical work, relatively large abdominal surgeries such as pancreaticoduodenectomy and radical surgery for gastric cancer require postoperative placement of a nasal-intestinal nutrition tube according to the specific condition. When postoperative gastroparesis occurs, nasal feeding via the nasal-intestinal tube is available to enhance nutritional support and wait for the recovery of gastric motility function. The main nursing measures are: 1. Psychological care. Most patients have difficulty in accepting or adapting to the placement of nasal intestinal tube after surgery, so it is necessary to actively communicate with them and explain the role of nasal intestinal tube placement, so that they can cooperate with the treatment. 2. Tube care. Pay attention to the protection of the nasal intestinal tube, to prevent accidental dislodgement, repositioning will increase the patient’s pain. 3, diet care. When nasal feeding nutritional solution or liquid food through the nasal intestinal tube, pay attention to maintain a uniform speed, not too fast, to prevent obstruction.
