Cervical conization, known as conical hysterectomy, is a gynecological procedure that is performed transvaginally, mainly for the surgical treatment of benign diseases of the cervix. The procedure is divided into electrodebrider surgery, which is often referred to as Lipo knife surgery, and cold knife surgery, which is performed by a surgeon with a scalpel. Cervical conization is used when the cervical biopsy is in situ cancer and the cervical conization is performed to determine whether the lesion is infiltrating or not, and the removed cervix is tested again. In addition, for severe atypical hyperplasia of the cervix, removal of the cervix can be used for therapeutic purposes.
