What causes acne on both sides of the cheeks

Acne is most likely to be considered when acne grows on both sides of the cheeks. The disease is mainly caused by abnormal secretion of androgens, excessive sebum secretion, hyperkeratosis of the cells around the hair follicles, and propagation of Propionibacterium acnes. 1. Abnormal secretion of androgens: After puberty, the development of adrenal glands and gonads leads to an increase in the secretion of androgens, and the excessive secretion of androgens can lead to the enhancement of sebaceous glands. 2. Excessive sebum secretion: the secretion of sebaceous glands is related to the level of androgens in the patient’s body. If the level of androgens in the patient’s body is elevated, it will lead to the sebaceous glands of the patient functioning exuberantly, and thus secrete more sebum. 3. Hyperkeratosis of perifollicular cells: If the patient has hyperkeratosis of perifollicular cells, it will lead to the follicle opening becoming smaller, narrower, and blocked, which will lead to the sebum not being able to be discharged normally, and the pores will be blocked, which will also lead to acne on the cheeks of the patient. 4. Propionibacterium acnes proliferation: If the patient’s face is overpopulated with Propionibacterium acnes, it will cause the sebum secreted by the sebaceous glands to produce free fatty acids, which will stimulate the hair follicles and the skin around them, resulting in inflammatory reactions and the phenomenon of acne. Acne on the cheeks may also be genetically related. It is recommended that the patient seek medical attention and treatment as prescribed by the doctor.
