The causes of ankle soreness are as follows: First, consider chronic ligament injury of the ankle joint, such as soreness and pain of the ankle joint after a lot of sports, generally consider that there is micro-injury of the local ligament, such as tearing or the presence of ligament exudation. Second, consider synovitis of the ankle joint, which may be caused by cold wind or cold water stimulation causing increased synovial inflammation, or may be caused by excessive exercise causing increased synovial inflammation, both of which may manifest as soreness and discomfort of the ankle joint. Thirdly, degenerative osteoarthritis is considered. It may be due to the occurrence of ankle fractures in the past and the lack of good repositioning, which may lead to degenerative traumatic arthritis at a later stage, manifesting as soreness and pain in the hip joint. Fourth, it may be due to higher age and gradual wear and tear degeneration of joint cartilage, causing periarticular osteophytes and joint space narrowing, which may also lead to chronic soreness of the ankle joint.
