Sudden gastric colic may be caused by poor diet, mental stress and other physiological factors, generally no special treatment, but also may be caused by acute gastritis, peptic ulcer, need to be based on the cause of omeprazole, thioglycollate and other medications, surgical treatment.
1. Physiological factors: If you often eat hot pot, spicy hot and other stimulation of the gastrointestinal tract of the food, or long-term mental stress, mental tension can easily cause the gastrointestinal tract to work properly, which will lead to gastrointestinal tract dysfunction, the patient may have gastric colic. This is a normal physiological phenomenon, usually do not need to take measures to treat, the patient’s symptoms will be relieved by themselves.
It is recommended that patients should develop regular dietary habits, eat less stimulating food, and maintain a relaxed mood to avoid excessive stress.
2. Acute gastritis: If acute gastritis caused by sudden gastric colic, you need scopolamine, atropine and other antispasmodic drugs under the guidance of a doctor, or magnesium aluminum carbonate, aluminum thioglycollate and other gastric mucosal protective agents. Patients also need to follow the doctor’s instructions with acid inhibitors, such as omeprazole, cimetidine and so on.
3. Peptic ulcer: patients with peptic ulcer will also be manifested as sudden gastric colic, it is recommended to use omeprazole, rabeprazole and other proton pump inhibitors, as well as potassium bismuth citrate, colloidal bismuth and other bismuth under the guidance of the physician.
If the patient develops Helicobacter pylori infection, quadruple therapy is required under the guidance of physicians, i.e., two antibiotics + bismuth + omeprazole, and the commonly used medications include amoxicillin, metronidazole, bismuth potassium citrate, and lansoprazole.
For the exclusion of physiological factors leading to sudden gastric colic, patients need to seek timely medical treatment and follow the doctor’s instructions.
