Breast cancer recurrence is not always curable and is usually related to the specifics of the recurrence. Even so, if recurrence occurs, patients still need to actively cooperate with treatment. There are two main cases: 1. Local regional recurrence: recurrence of breast or axillary lymph nodes and supraclavicular lymph nodes can be treated by intravenous chemotherapy and local radiation therapy, which may achieve clinical cure. There are also patients with isolated chest wall recurrences for whom combination therapy may allow long-term control of the disease. In addition, if the patient has not undergone axillary lymph node dissection in the first treatment, axillary lymph node metastasis can be carefully evaluated, and if metastasis is found to exist, timely axillary lymph node dissection can have a certain possibility of cure; 2. Distant metastasis: breast cancer has the possibility of metastasis to almost every organ of the body. Commonly, such as liver metastasis, lung metastasis, brain metastasis or bone metastasis. Intravenous chemotherapy is the main comprehensive treatment, but the cure rate is low and basically incurable. The aim of treatment is to improve the quality of life and prolong the survival of patients.
