The term “treating diseases before they occur” refers to two aspects, i.e. “preventing diseases before they occur” and “preventing diseases before they occur”, which also means that TCM doctors can treat diseases for a rainy day or prevent diseases before they occur, i.e. to prevent them from happening. Chinese medicine has experienced thousands of years of experience in the prevention and treatment of diseases, and has accumulated a lot of rich experience and methods in disease prevention and treatment. For example, “Su Wen? The book of Shanggu Tianzhen said: “Therefore, the sages do not treat the sick to cure the sick, do not treat the chaos to cure the chaos, this is also called. The disease has become and then medicine, chaos has become and then cure, like thirst and wear well, ^ and cast cone, is not also late?” This passage is about the virtuous person (doctor) who can start treating the disease before it happens and treating the war and chaos before it is formed. This is like waiting until you are thirsty before you think of drilling a well, or waiting until war breaks out before you think of casting a weapon, isn’t it too late? Therefore, the occurrence and development of any disease is a certain law to follow. If a doctor grasps this law, he can really do “prevention before illness” or “prevention of both illnesses”. In order to treat the untreated disease, not only must have a solid theoretical foundation and rich clinical experience, but also must have a high medical ethics and a high degree of responsibility. Here is an example of an ancient doctor treating the untreated disease. In Han Feizi, there is an allusion to a famous doctor named Bian Magpie who was very skilled in the Warring States period. Once he met with Duke Cai Huan, and after looking at him for a while, Bian Magpie said to Duke Cai Huan, “You have a small disease in your muscles, and if you don’t treat it, your condition will worsen.” Duke Huan of Cai said, “I’m not sick, I don’t need medical treatment.” When Bian Magpie left, Duke Huan of Cai said to the people around him, “A doctor just likes to treat people who are not sick, so that he can show that he is a good doctor.” After ten days, Bian Magpie met Duke Huan of Cai once again and said to him, “Your disease has penetrated deep into your skin, and if you don’t treat it your condition will be very serious.” The Duke of Cai Huan was very unhappy and continued to do as he pleased, ignoring the Magpie’s advice. After another ten days, Bian Magpie met with Duke Huan of Cai once again and said to him, “Your illness has already penetrated deep into your intestines, and if you don’t treat it in time, the consequences will be even worse.” The Duke of Cai Huan still did not believe Bian Magpie’s words and once again missed the best time for treatment. After another ten days, Bian Magpie saw the Duke of Cai Huan from afar, but turned and ran away without going up to greet him. The Duke of Cai Huan was very puzzled, so he sent someone after Bian Magpie to inquire about the situation. There is nothing more the doctor can do. Now the Duke of Cai Huan’s disease had penetrated into the marrow of his bones and could not be cured by me, so I did not ask to cure him any more.” After five days, the Duke of Cai Huan felt pain in his body and remembered the advice of Bian Magpie, so he sent for Bian Magpie, but by then, Bian Magpie had already left for Qin, and before long the Duke of Cai Huan died without treatment.
