How hypopituitarism is treated

Hypopituitarism is mainly treated by hormone replacement therapy and etiology. 1. Hormone replacement therapy: supplementing the pituitary gland to secrete the lack of pro-hormones (growth hormone, gonadotropin) or corresponding target gland hormones (adrenal glucocorticoid, thyroid hormone, sex hormone), and mimicking the physiological secretion curve of hormones as much as possible. 2. Etiological treatment: if the patient has pituitary tumor and other diseases, the pituitary tumor should be removed through surgical resection, and if it is a large malignant pituitary tumor, it needs to be combined with radiotherapy to improve the function of pituitary gland after surgery. If it is caused by infection, anti-infection treatment such as ceftriaxone should be given. Hypopituitarism will cause the patient’s physical development delay, deformity and other symptoms, the patient should be correctly treated under the guidance of the doctor.
