Is there a relationship between hydronephrosis and pelvic radiotherapy?

There is no relationship between hydronephrosis and pelvic radiotherapy.
Hydronephrosis is a condition in which the expulsion of urine from the kidney to the external urethral orifice is obstructed, causing urine to accumulate in the kidney, resulting in dilatation of the renal pelvis and renal calyces. Hydronephrosis may be caused by stenosis of the renal pelvic-ureteral junction, tumors of the renal pelvis and ureter, urinary stones, prostatic hyperplasia, neurogenic bladder, and urethral stricture.
The side effects of pelvic radiotherapy are mainly radiation enteritis, radiation cystitis, pelvic injury, fatigue, headache, loss of appetite, nausea and vomiting, and reduction of blood cells and platelets. So there is no clear link between hydronephrosis and pelvic radiotherapy.
When hydronephrosis occurs, patients are advised to go to the hospital in time, clarify the cause of the disease, and treat it under the guidance of the doctor to avoid delaying the condition.
