Rectal obstruction may be related to mechanical factors, or it may be caused by kinetic factors, hemodynamic factors, and so on. 1. Mechanical causes: for example, narrowing or impassability of the intestinal lumen due to foreign bodies in the intestinal lumen, such as roundworms. The narrowing or impassability of the intestinal lumen is caused by extra-intestinal factors such as intestinal compression, intestinal adhesions, and tumor compression inside or outside the intestinal lumen. The narrowing or impassability of intestinal lumen caused by intestinal wall factors such as excessive length of sigmoid colon, intussusception, intestinal tumor, etc. may cause rectal obstruction. 2. Dynamic factors: usually due to severe abdominal trauma, hypokalemia, serious infection of intestinal lumen and other factors, resulting in the inhibition of the nerves controlling intestinal motility, resulting in abnormal contraction of the intestinal tubes or intestinal peristalsis stops, resulting in the inability of intestinal contents to pass through smoothly, thus forming rectal obstruction. 3. Hematologic factors: It is mostly considered that it may be due to the narrowing or embolism of blood vessels in the intestinal wall or narrowing or embolism of mesenteric blood vessels, which leads to narrowing or occlusion of blood vessels supplying intestinal blood, resulting in abnormal peristalsis of intestinal tubes, or even disappearance of intestinal tubes peristalsis, thus inducing rectal obstruction. Rectal obstruction, may also be caused by other reasons, when the relevant symptoms, should pay attention to the timely to the regular hospital, improve the examination, after a clear diagnosis, in accordance with the doctor’s instructions for targeted treatment.
