It is used to tranquilize the fetus, harmonize the middle, dry dampness, tonify the spleen and benefit the stomach. It is often used in treating dysuria (unsmooth urination), dizziness and spontaneous sweating (involuntary sweating during the day, aggravated by the slightest movement of sweat), edema, jaundice, deficiency of qi in the spleen and stomach, inappetence, tiredness and lack of qi, dysuria, and restlessness of the fetus. Note that it is contraindicated in cases of yin deficiency, dryness and thirst, and Qi stagnation and flatulence. Ledebouriella and Atractylodis Macrocephalae should be applied under the guidance of a Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioner if medication is required.
