How to treat tetrodotoxin poisoning

There is no special antidote for puffer fish poisoning in general. Once poisoning occurs, patients should be given various measures for detoxification and symptomatic disposal, as follows: 1. Gastric lavage, emesis and diarrhea should be given immediately. Puffer fish poisoning is unstable in alkaline solution, so gastric lavage solution is mostly sodium bicarbonate. 2. Rehydration therapy such as glucose and saline should be given intravenously to promote the excretion of toxins as soon as possible, or diuretics such as furosemide injection should be given for static dosing. 3. 3.If the patient has muscle paralysis, vitamin B1 and B12 can be given intramuscularly. 4.A large amount of adrenal glucocorticoid should be applied as early as possible. 5.If the patient has respiratory distress, oxygen or application of respiratory stimulant treatment should be given; if the patient has circulatory failure, anti-shock and correction of cardiac arrhythmia can be given. 6.Anti-cholinergic drugs have certain antitoxic effect on tetrodotoxin, atropine or Scopolamine can be injected intramuscularly or diluted and then pushed in a sedative manner, which can be repeatedly applied according to the condition.
