How to drain hormones from hormonal dermatitis

The correct name for hormonal dermatitis is hormonal dermatitis, and its treatment does not mean that hormones need to be expelled from the body because it is a glucocorticoid-dependent dermatitis, and the treatment does not require the expulsion of hormones from the body. Hormonal dermatitis is a skin lesion caused by the long-term application of glucocorticoid preparations to the skin or cosmetics containing hormones, and has nothing to do with hormones in the body. Due to the long-term repeated application of glucocorticoids, the proliferation and differentiation of epidermal cells are inhibited, resulting in a decrease in the number of cells in the stratum corneum and abnormal function, which destroys the epidermal permeability barrier and reduces the water content of the stratum corneum, resulting in a series of inflammatory reactions, similar to withdrawal reactions. The damage is initially localized as erythema and papules, followed by localized skin capillary dilation, pigmentation, skin atrophy, or acne-like changes. The treatment of hormonal dermatitis is based on topical medications, and oral medications can be chosen for severe cases. When topical medication is used, for patients with long duration of disease and severe reactions after stopping medication, the glucocorticoid decreasing method is mostly used; for those with short duration of disease and medication, the use of glucocorticoid preparations can be stopped. Moisturizers such as Vaseline ointment and allantoin cream, immunomodulators such as tacrolimus ointment and pimecrolimus ointment, as well as non-steroidal preparations such as butalbital hydroxy acid cream and ethoxybenzylamine cream can be used. Oral medications are usually anti-inflammatory, anti-allergy and anti-infective drugs. In addition, according to the patient’s specific situation, the doctor will give strong pulse light, photodynamic therapy, etc. In the acute stage, cold spray, cold film treatment will be used to quickly reduce the inflammation of the lesions. During the treatment period, care should be taken to avoid irritating foods, emotional excitement, and overheated environments.
