The causes of darkness around the patient’s eyes can be divided into physiological and pathologic, physiological most of the genetic, late-night related, and pathologic mainly with the eye inflammation, liver and kidney disease, etc., so the patient’s eye darkness is not necessarily caused by disease.
1. Physiological
(1) Heredity: some patients have congenital darkening around the eye circle, which may be related to genetic inheritance and generally do not need special treatment.
(2) Staying up late: when the patient has not enough sleep for a long time, irregular work and rest, or excessive use of the eyes, there will also be dark circles around the eyes, that is, often referred to as dark circles under the eyes.
2. Pathological

(2) Liver and kidney diseases: patients with liver cirrhosis, chronic hepatitis, chronic nephritis, renal failure, etc., due to abnormal liver function or decreased renal filtration function, resulting in melanin accumulation, so patients may appear around the eye circle darkening.
