There is no effective way to deal with children’s spitting up, children’s spitting up can be caused by physiological and pathological factors, which can be improved by adjusting the way of breastfeeding or treating the primary disease.
Physiological factors: children spitting up is divided into physiological and pathological two kinds of cases. Physiological spitting up usually disappears on its own around 7 to 12 months of age. After spitting up, the head should be elevated or the upper body should be lifted up in time to prevent the vomit from entering the trachea and leading to asphyxiation. If spitting up occurs when the baby is lying down, the baby’s head should be quickly turned to the side to prevent the spit-up from flowing backward into the throat and trachea.
For spitting up caused by overfeeding, improper breastfeeding position and other improper feeding methods, adopt the correct feeding method, such as keeping the baby’s body tilted at a certain angle (45°).
Pathological factors: Spitting up can also be caused by diseases, such as congenital hypertrophic pyloric obstruction, acute gastroenteritis, etc. The primary disease should be actively treated, and congenital hypertrophic pyloric obstruction can be treated by surgery. Acute gastroenteritis, such as bacterial infection, can be selected according to the drug sensitivity application of antibacterial drugs, such as cefixime and other treatment.
It is recommended that children who continue to spit up unrelieved or accompanied by symptoms of discomfort, need to go to the hospital as soon as possible, by the doctor according to the specific conditions, to formulate individualized diagnosis and treatment plan, so as to avoid delaying the condition. The above medications should be used in accordance with medical advice.
